Gillian joined SOS in 2025 as a Scruff Counsellor after being encouraged by her wife, Stephanie, who also volunteers with the organization.

After leaving her corporate job, Gillian spent four years travelling full-time around the world. During that time, she saw many homeless dogs, which stayed with her. Once she returned to Canada, getting involved in rescue felt like the right next step.

Now, she helps guide adopters as they welcome rescue dogs into their homes.

Outside of SOS, Gillian enjoys hiking with her dogs, growing food, and spreading native seeds in her garden.

Fun fact: She and her wife travelled across four continents with their dogs, Jasper and Huxley.
