Marin joined SOS as a Scruff Counsellor in 2025 after first connecting with the organization through adoption. In December 2023, she welcomed Allan from the Barbie litter into her life, and he quickly became her little sidekick.

Allan is an awkward, lovable guy who is always up for a good hike and comes along on just about every adventure. After adopting, Marin went on to foster a puppy named Indigo in spring 2025, and from there, getting more involved felt like a natural next step. When a move made fostering more difficult, she joined the volunteer team that fall.

Marin had such a positive experience with her own Scruff Counsellor, Amy, during both her adoption and fostering journey that she felt inspired to be part of that same support system for others. Now, she loves helping adopters navigate the process and find the right fit for their homes.

Outside of SOS, Marin enjoys sewing clothes and quilts, doing pottery, going for long hikes, and finding new ways to improve her apartment.

Fun fact: Marin is a graphic designer focused on non-profit work and is always looking for ways to make a positive impact. She also has a cat named Sloane who loves Allan, even if he is not entirely convinced.
