Female | 8 years old | 10 pounds | Medium energy | Limited exposure to kids | Coexists with another dog | Hasn’t met cats, shows prey drive | From Hamilton | Fostered in Toronto | Sweet, shy & always learning
Her sweet nature is what best reflects her namesake, meet BLUEBELL. Described as sweet, shy, and an overall happy dog, BLUEBELL is an 8-year-old getting comfortable and cozy in her foster home. While almost half of the world's bluebells are found in the UK, this one in particular can be found in Toronto with her foster family, where her confidence is growing every day.
At just 10 pounds, this scruff is small in stature, though is anything but subtle. As she’s become more accustomed to a new routine, her sassy side is starting to emerge! Boundaries have been easy to implement, though she has a ways to go when it comes to progressing on her vocalness and jumping tendencies. In a similar vein, BLUEBELL has shown that she can be reactive towards men and dogs while walking on leash. Setting her up for success, including holding her attention, redirecting where necessary, keeping her moving, and vocal corrections, has been helpful.
BLUEBELL currently lives with another dog, and while she was initially nervous has since become more comfortable and coexists with them. With that in mind, she’s not interested in engaging with them otherwise, but that will probably change as her confidence grows. Playing and toys might not be the key to her heart, but she is learning to be affectionate and now seeks out pats from her people daily. After all, in the language of flowers, her name symbolizes everlasting love and enduring affection, so it only makes sense that this scruff would be equally as affectionate. As a potential adopter, we love this for you! Curious about young humans, BLUEBELL shows off her gentle side when interacting with them, which we love just as much.
