Available Dogs

GENERAL APPLICATION

Please fill out this application if you don't see a dog you'd like to adopt and have some specific ideas of what you're looking for and are ready to adopt in the near future. Please include any relevant details about what you'd ideally like in a dog in place of the dog’s name (Size, energy level, age, etc). Please also include any prior experience that you have - although new dog owners are welcome.

Please note, submitting this application does not mean you are automatically approved for adoption. You will need to go through the full adoption process including an interview, reference check and submitting photos of your home. Note that the type of dog you are looking for may not be readily available and while we will do our best to find a dog that best suits your criteria it's unfortunately not always possible. A bit of flexibility goes a long way in rescue! Consider opening your hearts and homes to dogs who are past the puppy stage, maybe shed a little bit (hypoallergenic dogs can be tough to come by!) and who maybe need a bit of extra support to perfect certain skills. Please be patient and we will reach out to you if we find a suitable pooch!

SHEPHERD MIX PUPS!

SHEPHERD MIX PUPPIES!

Have you always dreamed of a smart, loyal companion to take on all of life's adventures with? Are you interested in snuggling a cute as heck ball of fur of your very own? We're now accepting applications for our two shepherd puppy litters! They will be ready to go home around the 3rd week of September! Applications must be in by September 3rd!

Applicants should have a flexible schedule - puppies are a lot of work and they'll need frequent bathroom breaks, all puppy training, and some time to build that lasting bond with their people. They will also not be candidates for any dog walking services or doggy daycares at this young age!

Bonus points if you have experience with Shepherds or similar breeds. If not, we encourage you to do some research about the breed so that we can chat more about how you will help your puppy grow and mature. Based on what we know about the shepherd breed, and the amount of mental stimulation and exercise they need, we will first be considering homes with experience with the breed or other high stimulus breeds - please let us know in your application what specific experience you have, and/or what research you have done to make you an ideal home for these puppies! Note, the pups could grow up to 90lbs+ we have no idea!

Note that puppies will be assigned to applicants based on what we know of their personalities. We will do our best to accommodate gender and colour preferences but just like your Bumble dates, it's all about making sure it's the right fit for you and the pup. Trust us, our matchmaking skills are on point!

Puppies will be ready to head to their fur-ever homes around 8 weeks of age, near the end of September. Applicants that are on vacation or going on vacation soon after, will not be considered.

Interested? Please submit an application and we can chat further!

PUPPY GENERAL APPLICATION

We're looking for FOSTER TO ADOPT homes - specifically for puppies/younger dogs.

We have puppies/younger dogs coming into care on a fairly regular basis!

You'll be fostering with the intent to adopt so the dog will go right into your care and you can take a couple of weeks to get to know each other and see if it's the right fit. If it is, that's awesome and if not, you will need to be willing to continue to foster and we'll post the dog as available for adoption.

Pretty sweet right?

What we're looking for from you:

-you're ready to welcome a dog into your home in the very near future. Within the next few months! —you're in the GTA or willing to travel so the dog can attend their initial vetting appointments which are covered by SOS

-you have some flexibility in your schedule for a younger dog (they will require all puppy training and lots of potty breaks!)

-you want to work with us as much as we want to work with you, even if that takes a bit of time! If we don't have your ideal match available right away we can definitely try to find a dog who suits your needs

Interested? Click below and fill out an application. Specify that it’s for an incoming FTA PUPPY. Tell us a little more about what your ideal dog would be like and why you would be a good fit for a PUPPY. A member of our team will contact you to get the conversation going

Can’t wait!

PERLA

PERLA

F | 1 Y | 22 lbs | Shepherd Mix | Playful pal | Medium-high energy | Needs proper intros | No exposure to children | Good exposure to dogs | Not cat tested

From Costa Rica we’d like to introduce you to one spunky little gal, PERLA! Due to her playful nature and high energy, PERLA loves to play with absolutely everyone! This 100% includes play wrestling and a good round of chase here and there. She’s doing well learning the importance of respecting other dogs’ and people’s space and body language as not everyone wants to play ALL the time! Boundaries are #everything and PERLA is starting to get this. She’s a smart gal that’s for sure. PERLA isn’t just into making friends with dogs though as she’ll totally become your bestie in no time. We love that for you! While this girl doesn’t exhibit a major prey drive when it comes to checking out smaller animals, she does tend to show some curiosity and would preferably play with cats if they would let her. We know that not all cats would be down with this though and recommend supervision if she’s to meet more of these furry friends in the near future. PERLA’s furever family can expect to continue working with her on not jumping on human friends. It’s exciting catching up with buds for sure but jumping isn’t totally cool and calming exercises may help. These exercises may also help work on reducing her barking when someone new enters the room. Score! It’s also important that her furever family knows that she’s still young and continues to work on potty training. She already knows that she needs to go outside but is working on communicating this with her humans. Think you could not only be this gal’s bestie but also her furever family? Apply to adopt PERLA today!

PRINCESS

PRINCESS

F | 1 Y | 30 lbs | Shepherd Mix | Medium energy | Good second dog | Needs proper intros to humans | Good exposure to dogs | Some exposure to cats | No exposure to children | Sweetie pie | Looking for an FTA!

Once upon a time, there was a pup named PRINCESS who lived in the Dominican Republic. Fast forward to now where she’s hanging out with her foster mom in Canada! We’re all looking for a happily ever after and this pup is looking for one with a foster-to-adopt furever family that will bring her out of her shell by building her confidence. PRINCESS is a nervous gal so she’s currently working on her responses to sudden movements and loud noises. She will do best with a family who can provide a structured routine for her day to day and continue working with her on leash training. With a medium energy level, she enjoys chilling on her own with some toys and spending time watching what her humans are up to. PRINCESS would enjoy spending time in a yard though this isn’t something that’s required of her furever home. She has experience meeting a cat whom she totally ignored and would likely do well meeting more with you. PRINCESS enjoys hanging out with other dogs and would love to have another dog in the home who could match her energy and play with her bringing her out of her shell! She hasn’t met any kiddos and meeting those that are dog-savvy and can respect her space would be appreciated as she can be shy with humans. Accepting treats is a total treat for this one and PRINCESS will be happy to do so once you’ve given her some time to meet you. Ready for your happily ever after? Apply to adopt PRINCESS today!

YAYA

YAYA

F | 7 M | Hound Mix | Medium energy | Needs proper intros | Good second dog | Some exposure to children and dogs | Not cat tested | Sweetheart | Lots of love to give

Nice to meet you, I’m YAYA! I’m a little shy, to be honest, but if you give me some time to warm up I know I’ll fall in love with you! Then I’ll be ready to show off my peppy puppy side! Just make sure you approach me slowly at first. My foster family says proper introductions are necessary and I agree. Slow and steady wins the race after all! I’m looking for a confident family that can provide structure and boundaries to help me keep a calm state of mind as this will totally help me when transitioning into my new home. I like to hang out with quiet, smaller dogs given proper introductions and I think I’d do well with another older dog in my new home. My doggy bud must be the leader of the pack as I’ve been told that I can be overly assertive with other pals and forget to put on my “play nice” cap. I like to be the boss when playing with my pals but practice and consistency will help me remember my manners as I mature. My foster family and I are working on leash training and tbh I think I’m doing pretty good! I know for a fact that I’m very responsive to human direction and being attentive…my foster fam told me so! I also just really love to please my humans! Occasionally, birds and squirrels distract me because they’re just so fun to chase after but I know that chasing them won’t make them my friends. I’m also doing my best working on crate training. I like to get out for a couple of walks during the day and LOVE a good food puzzle. Tug of war is pretty fun too. I’m originally from Mexico but I gotta’ say I’m loving life in Toronto. I know I’m gonna’ love it even more once I’ve zeroed in on my furever family! Is that you? You should totally apply to adopt me today!!!

OMEGA

OMEGA

F | 2.5 Y | Hound Mix | Medium energy | Needs proper intros to dogs | Some exposure to children and dogs | Not cat tested | Loves a good nap

So you’re a picky eater eh? And you over there, you’re a snorer. And you, yes you! You’re a woo girl, aren’t you? No biggie, I’m not picky when it comes to my human’s quirks!! That’s what’s going to make me fall in love with you after all! My name’s OMEGA. I’m from Mexico and looking to find my furever home. I’m not fussy, in fact, I’m quite the opposite, but I am looking for a family that can give me all of their love and affection. Also, I’m definitely a planner and like a good routine. Who doesn’t like color coding their calendar?! I’m an independent kinda’ gal who’s on the hunt for a confident leader I can look up to. Literally and figuratively. I like hanging out with dog-savvy kids because they know how to respect my space. Personal bubbles are #key. I’m definitely uneasy around other dogs because I don’t 100% trust them just yet. I think once I see that my new humans will always advocate for my needs I’ll become more confident in these situations. I think I’d like having a calm and friendly dog bud in the neighbourhood though. It would provide a good opportunity for me to learn from my friend while out on walks or during a playdate. I’m definitely curious and given both time and space I’d like to show this off when making new buddies. I LOVE exploring new places and am totally happy to catch a few zzz’s after a hard day’s work. Ready to meet me? If you’re lucky I might even let you give me a belly rub! Apply to adopt me today!

CORA

CORA

F | 2.5 Y | Hound Mix | Medium energy | Needs proper intros | Some exposure to dogs | No exposure to children | Sweetheart | Not cat tested

While this gal isn’t serving you a hearty restaurant breakfast she’s totally serving you a smile! I mean, check out those profile pictures. Meet CORA! CORA is looking to find her furever home that’ll go the extra mile and encourage her to step just a little further out of her shell! She’s almost there! She’d love to find a calm home that will support her in trying one new thing a day. Well crate trained, she’s been known to chill out in her crate for some alone time when she needs it. While CORA likes to go for a couple of walks she’s typically just happy to hang out with her humans and nap at their feet. If you’re a fan of binge-watching Netflix she’ll be happy to join you and the fam! As long as you pass the popcorn! While on-leash outside, she tends to go out of her way to avoid meetings with dogs. With you, by her side, we’d like to see her grow more comfortable in these situations. She will with both time and positive, proper introductions. CORA has been working on this with her foster (yay!) and is becoming more confident while out on walks as she catches sight of other people and cars. Consistency and leadership are so KEY! CORA is all about meeting furry friends and humans while off-leash and tends to do well under those circumstances. Here’s the thing, we already know you’ve fallen for her smile. If you think she’d fall for yours, apply to adopt CORA today!

CHOCOLATA

CHOCOLATA

F | 2 Y | Hound Mix | Medium energy | Some exposure to children & dogs | People person | Total gem | No cats or small animals, please!!

This gal’s a keeper!! Meet CHOCOLATA! From Mexico, this pooch is curious and adaptable to new environments and attentive to her humans. She’s 100% likely to become your new shadow though she’ll also be happy to chill on her own after a big day of investigating with you by her side. CHOCOLATA is big on bonding with her people so if you’ve got the time to set aside for her she might just be the one and only gem you’ve been looking for! Not big on toys, CHOCOLATA LOVES expending all of her energy on daytime and evening walks as well as runs. She loves herself some fresh air. When it comes to meeting humans, CHOCOLATA isn’t picky and will be excited to meet you whether you’re 2 or 92! She can get jumpy though, so extra care should be taken if she’s to be meeting any real youngsters and calming exercises may be in order as she gets comfortable in her new home. More interested in humans, she does like to hang out with dogs while on leash outside and would do best with a calm, larger dog who can show her the ropes. This could be a neighbourhood buddy for her to socialize with! CHOCOLATA can get pretty fixated on chasing after critters, so no cats or small animals, please! She should also remain on leash if outside of an enclosed area. She continues to work on her leash training while out on walks with her foster, which her new fam can expect to continue. Think you’ve found yourself a keeper? Apply to adopt CHOCOLATA today!

FLORENCIA

FLORENCIA

F | 6 M | Hound Mix | Medium-high energy | Some exposure to children and dogs | Not cat tested | Youngster looking for love

Who’s this you ask? FLORENCIA! This six-month-old is looking for love, and honestly, it’ll be pretty hard to say no once you look into those big brown eyes of hers. From Mexico, FLORENCIA’s told us exactly what she’s looking for. She knows what she wants that’s for sure! If you’re a confident leader who is excited to advocate for this girl’s needs on the daily and teach her new tricks, well my friend you just might fit the bill. Somewhat of a wallflower and nervous in new situations you’ll see that FLORENCIA flourishes at home in the company of her humans. She’s got a goofy, energetic side that she’ll love showing off once she gets to know you. Thing is, we want her to flourish both indoors and while out and about right from the get-go. If you’re up for the challenge you could be the one for her! She’s 100% ready for her happily ever after and hoping you are too. FLORENCIA has tested the waters meeting kids and dogs a couple of times and she’s looking forward to making new friends (furry and otherwise) with her new family. She’s looking for some fun gal pals to explore the world with and hoping you can introduce her. It’s all about who you know right? That said, cats may or may not cut it as she tends to chase small animals. Do you have that good feeling about this one yet? Apply to adopt FLORENCIA today! We know you want to! :)

SHEYLA

Heya, it’s SHEYLA! She’s got spunk, she’s got style, and all she wants to do is make her new fam smile! From Mexico, this gal is currently residing in Kitchener and you betcha she’s looking for her dream home. We love her for you if you’re a more active family that can encourage boundaries and continue progressing her doggie manners. With the right humans, we know that she could be your best gal pal. This girl is always ready to play and loves chewing on her Kong. If you’re looking to join in on the fun, you can’t go wrong with a good old game of tug of war. You’ll soon find out that SHEYLA is good at chasing her tail. Like, Olympic gold medalist kinda’ good. It’s good to know your strengths! Weaknesses you ask? Well, you can likely expect to work with SHEYLA on calming exercises as she shows a prey drive becoming vocal when catching sight of squirrels. She’s also pretty into chasing the neighbourhood cat when she gets the chance so it’d be best to monitor her if she meets any with you. When SHEYLA isn’t busy working on training games with her humans she likes to meet other dogs while going for walks and will continue to work on leash training with her new fam. She’s eager to check on all the things all the time and can become distracted when she comes into close contact with other humans because she’s just SO EXCITED. ZELIG

ZELIG

M l 8-Weeks l Husky/Lab Mix l Medium/Large Breed l Puppy Energy l Lively Exchanges l Dog Social w Litter l Will need Guidance w Kids/Cats

Cute or nah?!! AHHH CUTE! Described by his foster as a “big sweetie, chill but playful, with an adorable baby husky howl” ZELIG is looking for his furever home! ZELIG was born in our care after his momma was rescued on the streets of Manitoba on our big intake in July! ZELIG is looking to go into his forever home in a few days so if you’re interested in this 8 week old pup, please put in your application PRONTO because he will NOT be available for long! Interested applicants must have a flexible schedule as puppies need lots of support as they learn how to navigate the human world. ZELIG is likely a Husky & Lab mix and is expected to grow into a medium/large breed dog. Huskies tend to be higher stimulus and although he is pretty chill now, he could grow into a fast paced dude. He also shows his husky off well by giving out lil bebe howls here and there to communicate with you, so being open to vocal exchanges is key here! He is currently socialized with his 8 litter mates and would love to be either a solo pooch or furry friend to another dog in the home. He has never met a cat or kid but having a dog at 8-weeks gives YOU the opportunity to expose him to new things in a way that may make him the best cat cuddler or respectable kid-dog you’ve ever seen. But remember, that has to be a two-way street. If you love this boii as much as we do, please apply today at saveourscruff.org He is looking to go to his furever home September 10th! Apply now!

BELLA

BELLA

F | 6 Y | Hound mix | Medium energy | Needs proper intros | Good second dog | Good exposure to dogs | Some exposure to children | Not cat tested | Currently training with a prong collar

Ciao, BELLA! BELLA truly is a beauty inside and out and she’s looking to show off her charm to a family she can call her own. Could that be you? She’ll sneak her way right into your heart if you let her. Don’t say we didn’t warn you! BELLA needs a family that will encourage her independence. This could be done with occasional crating throughout the day or allowing her to hang out and relax on her own. Understandably she’s already won your attention as you’ve read this far, but are you looking to win hers too? Well for starters, you can’t go wrong giving her your time after a day at the office. She likes spending time with her humans going for walks and redirection from you will come in handy as she continues to work on her responses to small critters (she’s currently being trained with a prong collar). BELLA does beautifully looking to her foster family’s dog for guidance as she continues living in T.O. after coming from Mexico. We think she’d do just as well as a second dog in her new home. If you don’t already have a dog don’t sweat it. She enjoys mingling with older kids and has been working on her introductions with smaller dogs. All she wants to do is play, play, play so it’s exciting meeting furry friends. That said, it’s essential to make sure both dogs are comfortable. She’s sure to get the hang of this with you by her side to guide her. You’ve probably already caught on, but this girl’s a total keeper. Apply to adopt BELLA today! Ciao for now.

COCOA

COCOA

F | 5 M | Hound mix | Medium energy | Needs proper intros | Good exposure to cats | Some exposure to children and dogs | Your new running buddy!

Real talk. Who doesn’t love a cup of hot COCOA? All jokes aside this girl is sure to be a hot commodity so you’d better get in line if you’re looking to adopt folks. Single file please, we want to set a good example for our girl! She came all the way from Mexico after all. At five months old COCOA is already a showstopper. I mean, did you see those big brown eyes of hers? It doesn’t hurt that she’s also super friendly, has basic commands down, and is crate trained. A triple threat, for sure. Is there anything COCOA can’t do?! She’s still a young pup and is working on her responses to sudden, loud noises such as trains as they can make her nervous. Also, while COCOA does welcome new friends she can be cautious when meeting new people. She warms up fast with a proper introduction and is always happy to accept a pat or two. If you’re looking for a running buddy you’ve likely found just the gal because we’ve got ourselves a runner! At this point, you’re probably wondering what she’s like with other furry friends. Well, COCOA loves playing with her foster family’s cat and having had fewer introductions with dogs she’s looking forward to meeting some more with you. Now accepting applications for adoption!

PANTERA

PANTERA

F | 2 Y | 28 lbs | Border Collie mix | Medium energy | Needs proper intros | Some exposure to dogs | No exposure to children | Independent gal pal | Loves playtime with the fam | No cats or small dogs, please!

This gorgeous gal isn’t just heart-stopping good looks. She’s got the smarts to blow you away as she continues her training. From Mexico, we are pleased to introduce PANTERA! Equal parts social butterfly and independent woman, this playful pup enjoys hanging out with larger, chill dogs. She’s not a fan of smaller dogs and shows a high prey drive chasing after squirrels and other critters. As this is the case, it’s best she doesn’t go to a home with cats or small dogs. PANTERA also loves to lounge on her own. Who doesn’t like a good nap? She seems to get along well with older children but requires proper introductions to new buds. With time and advocacy from her people, she’s sure to warm up quickly. She’s not big on toys, but she is big on interacting with her humans, so you can definitely initiate play through engagement games (which are great for relationship building!) PANTERA likes to go out and about, but she can get distracted by moving vehicles. This is totally something her furever family will be able to work with her on through engagement and structure on the walk. If you’re interested in adopting this gal, you can expect to continue working on crate training and confidence building. She’s only a year old, so she's still taking in the world! This just in from PANTERA, “Hey, I just met you and this is crazy. But here's my info. Adopt me, maybe!”

BARU

BARU

M | 1.5 Y | 27 lbs | Terrier x Scent Hound Mix | Medium energy | Playful | No tongue! | Good second dog | Good with dogs and children | No cats please! | Looking for an FTA!

Superstar who? BARU! Meet this playful dude from Costa Rica who’s looking for a foster-to-adopt! Baru lost his tongue when he was a young pup, but with a little help is getting by just fine without it! He drinks from a water fountain at home, a water bottle when he’s on the go, and uses a mouth rinse for extra fresh breath! At meal time, he needs someone to spoon his food into his mouth and then he takes care of the rest. In return, BARU will give you plenty of tounge-less kisses (really!) to let you know how appreciative he is! He’s curious and friendly with everyone he meets, including children and dogs and is happy to greet with hugs and doggy slobber! He makes buds quickly and is working on not barking at friends while he’s in the car and is otherwise very polite. While we don’t recommend him living with cats as he tends to bark and chase small animals he’d do well as a second dog in the home with another who is both friendly and confident and happy to show him the ropes. Being the eager to please dude that he is, BARU responds well to direction and is well-behaved. He’s a quick learner, currently working on the command sit and leash manners, and is food motivated in his training. He’s pretty adaptable and would do well in most environments, having done well on his own for up to 8 hours almost fully housebroken. Well behaved while out of his crate, he likes to use his crate as his safe space going in on his own at bedtime. His furever fam can expect to continue working with him on crating while they’re out and about and on calming exercises. This dude has experience living in a house with a yard though this is not required as long as he gets to go out and explore. Regulating his body temp on his own is a bit tough, so in hot weather he’ll need to limit his activity time outside and will be happy to play indoors! It's important his furever home has AC. This guy is super sweet and has so much love to give. We know you’ll love him just as much! Ready to meet superstar BARU? Yes, you! Apply to adopt BARU today!

MOTLEY

MOTLEY

F | 1 Y | Shepherd mix | Medium-high energy | Some exposure to dogs | No exposure to children | Not cat tested | Loves belly rubs

From Manitoba this mighty pup is looking for a confident foster to adopt home! Say hello to MOTLEY!! She’s looking forward to making new friends with her fam and has already done so while outside on walks with her current foster! She can be reactive to some dogs tending to use her voice as her way of showing who’s boss… but really you are and with time she’ll totally figure this out :) MOTLEY is accustomed to using a prong collar and will continue to do well on walks with human redirection where necessary from you! This gal is super interested in squirrels… think Doug from the movie Up. As such, it would be a good idea to supervise her if she’s to meet any feline friends. While MOTLEY hasn’t met any children with her foster just yet we’re thinking she’d likely do well in a home with older dog-savvy kids given her typical friendliness with adult humans. When meeting new people she does best being introduced while outside in her own time and it’s totally likely that once she’s made you her bestie she’ll want her tummy rubbed all day. It’s important that this gal gets both enough exercise as well as mental stimulation throughout the day and going for a few nice walks and playing some indoor games will totally do the trick! Her furever fam can expect to continue working with her on crate training teaching her it’s her safe space where she can sleep, eat, and play. MOTLEY is going to be SO EXCITED when she meets you! It’s important that her new home doesn’t let her get carried away and from the get-go teaches her not to jump on friends… even in such super exciting situations! Apply to adopt mighty MOTLEY today!

BENDER

BENDER

M | 2 Y | 67 lbs | Mastiff mix | Medium-high energy | Good second dog | Some exposure to dogs and children | No cats please! | Hippy-happy dude

Introducing BENDER!! Originally from Texas, this dude is now hanging out in the big T.O and is looking for his furever fam. A quick note, he’s heartworm positive and is currently being treated! BENDER is such a people pleaser and responds super well to human direction. Already having gotten leash training down, we can totally see him learning some new commands and neat tricks with his furever fam! We can also see him working on his responses to spotting squirrels, which calming exercises may help with. Due to this prey drive it’s recommended that he not interact with cats. When he’s not working on his sick skillz he loves, loves, LOVES to play, which could totally be why he’s good with kids! He does know when it’s time to chillax though, so it won’t be go go go all the time with this pal. BENDER does well using his crate, which is also a great opportunity to reinforce structure and boundaries in the home. He’d follow you everywhere if he could but it’s important that he doesn’t! Now, you might be thinking that because he’s got a higher energy level you might need to stay home more often or even work from home. Not the case as he’s happy to go for a ride in the car. What is the case though, is that he needs a human who’ll put in the effort when they are home to take him for some good walks and give him attention during playtime. He’s prong and e-collar trained. BENDER #loves dogs (don’t we all!) and would likely do well as a second dog in the home if you’ve got one already. This means that he’d have a friend to hang out with while you’re busy. If not, no biggie as he’ll be happy to make some buds while you guys are out and about. Apply to adopt BENDER today!

TESS

TESS

F | 1 Y | 45 lbs | Shepherd Mix | Medium-low energy | Needs proper intros | Some exposure to dogs and children | Good exposure to cats | Naps r life | NEEDS SPECIFIC HOME ENVIRONMENT | Foster-to-adopt

Meet TESS! From the Dominican this gorgeous gal is searching far and wide for the perfect human companion AND special environment! She’s looking for someone with a big heart and the ability to set boundaries, empowering her to become her best self. Being the affectionate gal she is, we know she wants to be open to this form of love and companionship all the time, but in her currently state, is an extremely nervous dog. TESS is more cautious around male humans but will warm up with time and being pet under her chin rather than over her head. Currently working on her confidence, she’s shy around other dogs and can be reactive initially because of this, and has only met a few while on leash . She will do best continuing to meet laid-back dogs with proper introductions. TESS would do BESST if she had another dog companion I the home that can show her how to dog - As of now, he’s a total social butterfly with her foster fam’s CATS but is looking for a more canine like role model ;) TESS will definitely win you over and if you’ve got a cat of your own though it’s likely they’ll love her too. One awesome thing for her current foster is that TESS enjoys lazing about in the am right along with you (if you’re not much of a morning person) - And did we mention she’s a total nap-a-holic?! She loves a good Netflix marathon and will be happy to chill out with some toys to play with. Apply to adopt TESS today!

*WE WOULD PREFER TESS BE MOVED INTO A NEW HOME AS A FOSTER ON A TRIAL BASIS so we can decide what’s best for her and her potential new humans.*

This scruff is available for informal meet-ups to see if you're a good fit! Please email katiehelfand@saveourscruff.org to set up a meeting!

ROSE

ROSE

F | 2 Y | Collie Mix | 34 lbs | Medium energy | Goofball | Some exposure to dogs and children | Not cat tested | Likes to show off her smarts!

Just as sweet as the flower we’d like you to meet two-year-old ROSE! From Egypt, ROSE is looking for some humans that will love her unconditionally, support her love of tug-of-war, and continue to work with her on leash skills and confidence. Having previously lived with an infant she’s more recently interacted with younger kiddos. Obviously, ROSE is a total sweetheart and with these little humans she shows off her calm and gentle self. She’s still young at two and has only had limited interactions with dogs while outside. Already improving, she’ll definitely thrive with a confident leader who can work with her on leash skills and becoming less reactive during these meetings… even if it is exciting meeting new friends. ROSE defs has a bit of a prey drive and will test out those vocal chords of hers when she sees a cat. Redirection and the incorporation of calming exercises into her daily routine are the best bet here. This girl would like her furever home to know that treats are totally the best thing on the planet!!! As such, training her with treats is, well, a total treat! She’s a bit of a smarty-pants and wants you to know it. ROSE likes to show off her goofy side and though not required, would love to spend some time in a fenced in yard as she’s been known to get a case of the zoomies every now and then. Her furever home can expect to continue working with her on using her indoor voice and becoming more confident with loud noises. She’s typically anxious in the car though crating her in such situations helps if you’re planning a weekend getaway. Apply to adopt ROSE today!
