Meet KODA! Any Tom Cruise fans out there? Well, you’re in luck, this handsome pup is a doppelgänger. He’s all about the ACTION. And he loves people with intensity (would TOTALLY jump up and down on a couch about how much he loves, well, every human ever).

KODA is looking for a fetch partner (something about him is he’s always trying to make fetch happen). In his dreams, he’s playing fetch endlessly. His ideal home would be filled with activity like fun walks & hikes, and snacks that involve him using his nose to work for them. He’s passionate about yogurt-and-pumpkin-stuffed goodies.

Fun fact about KODA: He’s super smart and loves training (yeah, so what if he’s only in it for the treats?). He’s food-motivated and happy to do anything for a small fee. Though he’s the most excitable boy in the world, he’s also great at his place command. And bonus! He’s great about going in his crate for downtime/sleep. The only disclaimer is he needs adequate exercise & mental stimulation first!

With humans, KODA is all in. He’s sweet & affectionate and can’t contain his excitement when he sees people. It’s a goofy quality we love about him. He’s working on his manners i.e. not jumping up. For this reason, he’d be best in a home with older, dog-savvy children, as he can be a bit rambunctious for littler kids.

With other dogs, KODA is ready to play! He’s playful & friendly with new dogs he’s met, but since he can come on a little strong (think the intense friendliness of Tom Cruise), he’d be best going to a home with a dog that’s easygoing or one that will appropriately/confidently correct him when needed.

Here comes a senior dog, sloooowly & weakly padding along… *record scratch* PSYCH not this senior. Nope, this senior is charging over here full-speed ahead (and watch out for that tail!) Meet KARMA! She’s 12 years old but jam-packed full of energy. This sweet brindle came to us from a shelter in Hamilton and has been settling in and growing her confidence in foster care.

KARMA loves any & all activities. Walking, hiking, playing, training, enrichment activities…sign her up. She’s looking for an active family that loves going for adventures but also loves chilling. When KARMA gets adequate activity, she is happy to relax for a movie night with her peeps. With her trusted humans, KARMA is very affectionate and has a heart as big as her 14-inch ear span. Meeting new people she can be apprehensive — but with slow & calm intros she warms up quickly.

As much as she loves going for walks, KARMA can be vocal on leash and her future home will want to continue working through this with her. She may have a harder time in a building where her chances of running into other dogs in hallways/elevators is higher — due to being vocal passing them. Depends on how she responds to ongoing support from her caregiver. We haven’t cat tested her yet. We think she’d thrive best in a home where she’s the only animal. This is how she’s been living in foster care and it seems to work for her.

KARMA does well with older, dog-savvy kids and would be happy in a home with more humans to give her attention and activity. She’s looking for a family that can devote time & attention to giving her mental stimulation and ALL the love & affection.
