Rachel first connected with SOS in 2019 through her partner, who was fostering dogs with the organization when they met. Not long after, she joined the volunteer team herself and has worn quite a few hats over the years, including Inbox Coordinator, Adoption Coordinator, Adoption Team Lead, and Adoption Manager.

In 2025, Rachel stepped away from her manager role due to changing life demands, but later returned to a community-facing position that fit her schedule a little better. After years of experience with SOS, she has become someone the team can count on to respond thoughtfully and compassionately to just about anything that lands in the inbox.

Rescue has been a huge part of Rachel’s life over the years, especially through fostering. Her scruff Dante, who became her first foster fail, holds a particularly special place in her heart.

Outside of SOS, Rachel enjoys walking her dog, reading, listening to music and podcasts, and spending time with her family.

Fun fact: Dante arrived in Canada from Costa Rica on the exact same day Rachel officially became a Canadian citizen.
