Heather adopted through SOS in 2019 and stayed closely connected to the organization ever since. In early 2024, she joined a volunteer trip to Mexico where conversations with other volunteers introduced her to the Scruff Counsellor role.

With a background in people-focused work and hands-on experience training her own dogs, Heather brings a thoughtful and supportive approach to every adoption. She understands how important communication is in setting both dogs and adopters up for success.

When she is not volunteering, you will find her outdoors with her husband and their dog Lucy, no matter the weather. She also enjoys reading, crafting, and baking.

Fun fact: She has had at least one dog in her home since she was three years old, and her parents are SOS adopters too.
