Laura joined SOS in 2024 after discovering the organization on social media while searching for a dog to adopt. That search led to Gigi, a beagle scruff who quickly became the perfect companion and sparked a desire to give back. Inspired by the joy Gigi brought into her life, Laura became a volunteer to help other scruffs find their furever homes.

Since adopting Gigi, she has dedicated her time to learning about dog behaviour and training, completing professional training, diving into resources provided by SOS, and consuming articles and podcasts about dogs in her spare time. Her personal experience navigating behavioural challenges with Gigi, along with her growing knowledge, made her a great fit for the Scruff Counsellor role. She credits the incredible support from the SOS team as a key part of her journey and success in the role.

Outside of SOS, she enjoys going to the gym, spending time with her dogs, reading, skiing, and relaxing with her family at the cottage.

Fun Fact: She lived in Amsterdam for a few years and learned some (very) basic Dutch!
