BOBBY

Male | 4 years old | 15 pounds | Medium energy | Likely good with kids | Hasn’t met cats | Good second dog | From Costa Rica | Fostered in Toronto | Confident, curious, cuddly

BOBBY is a very special dog. Despite coming all the way from tropical Costa Rica, he hasn't let the winter weather bring him down. In fact, he’s settled in like he was always meant to be here. BOBBY is proof that the best things come in small packages, with all the bells and whistles. He’s house- and crate-trained, gentle, and polite. Adaptable, BOBBY is comfortable in most situations. This includes going for a long walk through the park, meeting new people and dogs, or contentedly cuddling next to you on the couch. If BOBBY isn't sleeping or cuddling, his comically long tail is going a mile a minute! Oh, and if you have them, he’ll always make time to play with squeaky stuffies!

BOBBY is being fostered downtown Toronto and has learned to call the hustle and bustle of the city home. He loves being outside and will happily come with you to get your 10k steps in or go to watch the sunset. BOBBY is excellent on a leash, and while he does have prey drive as seen with squirrels and birds, he isn’t one for lunging or barking. He is nervous around large, fast vehicles such as a streetcar, though he doesn’t let them get in the way of his fun.

We’d describe BOBBY as a rockstar, so it’s no coincidence he looks like one too! BOBBY has a skin condition called lentigo, which has caused him to lose his hair on his neck, right knee, and around his eyes, giving him his rock and roll eyeliner! This condition is benign and does not require treatment; medicated baths, however, keep him feeling his most comfortable self!

BOBBY would be suited to most homes as he has a calm presence inside. That said, he thrives in the sun, so an outdoor space, such as a balcony or patio, would be ideal for him. While independent and curious, BOBBY still prefers to play with his humans, whether it's fetch or tug! BOBBY would make a great second dog as he would benefit from having a good example to look up to as he continues to learn basic commands. If you’re curious, this scruff naturally gravitates towards larger female dogs, as he tends to meet their energy well.
