Calm, cool, and collected, meet TONKA. He’s affectionate, a great listener, and a big cuddler! He’s already learned several commands while in foster care (we’re talking sit, spin, paw… and more!) and responds eagerly to his name. Lately, he’s been showing off more of his playful personality as he’s become more comfortable in new surroundings, which we love for him.

TONKA is looking for a relatively active home (a yard would be great, but not necessary) and if you have kids, the more the merrier! We believe TONKA would thrive in a home with youngsters who can keep up with his fun energy. TONKA lets kids approach him, and he has fun when they play chase with him. He can get the zoomies every now and again, though his energy can be well-managed with enough mental and physical stimulation throughout the day.

TONKA is a great playmate to other dogs, having interacted with a handful of them at this point. He also enjoys being in the company of his humans. He’d say hi to every person passing by if he could! TONKA particularly appreciates when people give him pets and cuddles. He’s a fan of the attention!

This scruff is definitely treat-motivated and, right now, he’s working on house training as well as leash walking during his two daily walks. Otherwise, he has done well so far learning his foster family’s rules and boundaries. What can we say? He’s kind of a smarty-pants!
