Do you love the mushy feeling of doing something really good for someone else? What about if that something good was for a dog?! If so, we need your help! The Adoption Team is looking to expand and needs another 2 Adoption Counselors, stat. Please note, this is a volunteer position.
We are constantly learning ourselves so first and foremost we are looking for an open minded and eager recruit! We will provide all the training and support you need to help set you up for success. The role involves processing adoptions from beginning to end (sending a "congrats you get a dog" email is seriously THE BEST). This includes phone interviews, checking references, and communicating with foster homes, team members, and applicants.
We hope you:
are open-minded and curious
have some dog experience
are professional, fun, and friendly
are eager to learn
work well with a team who likes to joke around but also get serious to brainstorm solutions
are comfortable talking on the phone
love using Google Forms, Sheets, Gmail, and Slack (but we can teach you that too!)
can commit 10+ hours per week and have flexible availability!
Available for last minute support for dogs that come unexpectedly
We encourage people from all different walks of life to inquire and apply as we highly value diversity. Plus you get a sweet fancy SOS email so like, WHY NOT RIGHT.
Having someone volunteer for this year helps us to be able to take in more dogs. We can only take-on as many dogs as are manageable for our adoption team to process. So, the more adoption help we have, the more dogs we can take on.
Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and give insights as to WHY YOU ARE THE PERF FIT! Please put ALL info needed to understand YOU, your related experience, and your general weekly availability to volunteer in your email!
