Hellloooo TOAST! This sweet older gal would be a great companion for someone who is retired or just living that laid-back life. When she's at home she's as relaxed as can be/usually sleeping. She's a calm, gentle soul that her foster describes as a canine angel. Although she's ok at home during a regular work day we don't think she would mind a mid-day walk or more time hanging with her people. She's not crated currently and has been fine so far, not getting into anything that she shouldn't. She can be a bit shy at first and needs proper intros with humans where she's allowed to approach first but after that, she's very affectionate. She helped her foster host one small party and happily greeted all the guests before taking in the action from her bed. She loves cuddling with you after a walk and when she wags her tail her whole body shakes. She is good with apartment life but she does enjoy going for a couple 30-minute walks per day. She went to The Beaches once and absolutely loved it so holler at your girl if that's your hood. She doesn't like crowds or overly busy areas like dog parks. She is a flight risk so shouldn't be off leash in open areas. If there's a loud noise or anything like that she tries to pull away so she needs a properly fitted collar and you need to have a good grip on the leash at all times. TOAST is a little nervous around other dogs, even dog statues. She tries to avoid them on walks but has had brief but positive interactions with other calm dogs. She's also nervous of enclosed stairwells but loves the elevator so it's a great excuse for you to never take the stairs again. She's working on conquering her fears and responds well to gentle encouragement from her people. She hasn't been tested with cats and would probably be fine to live with older children who don't interfere with her naps too much. If you'd like to meet TOAST fill out an application to adopt now!
