Meet SCOOBY! He can be a little shy at first but warms up quickly and is a VERY affectionate dog. He’s addicted to his people and really craves praise and attention. He’s always looking to his humans for direction so if you’re confident and comfortable he probs is too. His favourite spot to chill is anywhere where some part of his body can be touching you and if he’s not cuddled up next to you he’s on the hunt for some sunshine to soak up. Yes, it’s soo nice to feel loved and needed but we also want SCOOBY to develop some independence and not be babied. It’s important that in the event he’s not able to be touching you/have you in direct eyesight he’s still chill about it and not freaking out. That said, SCOOBY is totally cool with apartment living and is comfortable in his crate while you’re gone or when you’re asleep. These are positive boundaries that should be continued! He will sometimes bark when someone is at the door but that’s it. He doesn’t need tons of activity but he is very much a companion dog so we don’t think he would be too happy spending super long periods in his crate every day. If you work from home, have a flexible schedule or are able to bring a dog to work that would be perfect. He’s mostly house trained but does occasionally mark in the home. SCOOBY has been good at meeting new people as long as they approach with an open palm and not hover above him. He’s currently working on his leash skills including not barking at other dogs when he sees them at a distance. This seems to be out of sheer excitement of seeing another dog out in public (can you imagine?!) and the fact that he just wants to say hello. When meeting other dogs he has been super social and does like to play, so he just needs to work on his approach a bit more. No need to come in so hot there Scoobs! He hasn’t been tested with cats or kids. If you’d like to meet SCOOBY fill out an application to adopt now!
