Meet ROSE! She’s a bit stubborn and persistent but at least she’s always smiling! She’s very people friendly and doesn’t have any issues meeting new people as long as they get down on her level and allow her to come to them, which she does almost instantly. She’s very affectionate with her people in the home and is literally DA DOMB when you’re home. Literal gem. Her insecurities come out when she is left alone where she throws tantrums of WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME MOM and will do her best to get out of the house, breaking through walls and all. She is best with a flexible schedule as she works through her fear of being alone and/or need an office dog? She’d also thrive at a doggy daycare if that is your thing! She would need a indestructible crate when left alone or in a secure space that she can’t destroy things. She LOVES being active with you and would be an amazing jogging partner once she settles into your neighbourhood as she’s a bit nervous. Backyard or dog park, it needs to be VERY secure with VERY high fences as she is not good off leash. She will not hesitate to jump the fence at the park like see ya later, bye. She is curious about everything and needs a fair amount of interaction to keep her satisfied so daily activities will be beneficial going forward. Things like tug-a-war, hide and seek with treats, etc. This is also a challenge as she’s not food motivated but practice makes perfect! She will need help with housetraining as she’s often too nervous to go outdoors. Ideally, she’d love another playful dog in the home who can show her the ropes but also tire her out a bit. She hasn’t been tested with cats and has been good with kids in the neighbourhood! ROSE is ultimately looking for a patient but active home who can think of creative ways to keep her engaged and satisfied as she builds her confidence. Fill out an app at saveourscruff.org!
