RIO

What’s black and white and soooooo scruffy? Meet RIO! This little dude is a ball of energy and one walk per day just isn’t going to cut it. He definitely needs at least a couple longs walks along with an opportunity to run and some playtime. He is a super sociable guy so he enjoys running around the park with his friends but he’s not the best at reading social cues from other dogs. He hasn’t exactly learned to take no for an answer when another dog doesn’t want to play but other than that he’s totally cool. He would do really well in a home with a second dog who can keep up with him. That way they can play with each other and maybe you can sneak in a five-minute nap. Win, win! RIO is fine to live in an apartment or condo as long as he gets enough exercise. He’s happy to snooze most of the day away after a morning walk but when he gets bored he starts to pace and whine. This means he has energy to burn so some playtime or a trip outside is needed stat. When he’s super bored he tends to chew things so if you actually like your stuff it’s imperative that you keep him properly exercised and mentally satisfied. He can be a bit bossy (terriers thoooouughh) so it’s important that his new people set some healthy boundaries for him. He’s a little nervous of some things still, like car rides and loud noises, but is getting better every day. He did sort of chew through the seat belt in the car once so making sure he’s secure/doesn’t have anything to munch on while you’re on road trips would be helpful. RIO is an attention hog and he loves meeting new people but he hasn’t met any little humans or cats yet.
