Ok can we talk about how handsome RAMIRO is for a quick sec? SOOOO handsome, right? RAMIRO is still nervous and adjusting to his new surroundings. It takes him some time to build trust in his people but once he does he can be very affectionate and goofy. He’s been adjusting well to his current routine but needs to take things relatively slowly as new things can be a lot for him to process. He definitely needs proper introductions with people where he’s allowed to approach people first. He doesn’t like when people reach for him and also has a tendency to ‘protect’ his people when others get too close before he’s had a chance to assess the situation. He is getting more confident each day so the more exposure he has to proper intros the more he’ll develop trust in people and become more comfortable making new friends. He’s ok in an apartment but does occasionally bark at noises in the hallway. He’s completely crate trained and actually really enjoys hanging in there for some chill time after a long day. He still needs a couple bathroom breaks during the day though so isn’t used to being crated for a full day without human interaction. He’s not a fan of overly busy areas but he really loves walks so even though he’s nervous he gathers his courage to get out there and explore… cautiously. RAMIRO would likely benefit from socialization classes where he can be exposed to new dogs and people in a controlled environment. His family should also consider taking him to new places and just chilling – allowing him to take in new sights, sounds and sniffs! He is so smart and has already mastered so many commands with his foster including paw and stay (really impressive because he just wants that FOOD!). His interactions with other dogs have been limited so far but he did meet one super cool pooch in the courtyard at his apartment building and they’ve enjoyed playing with each other a couple of times, which was really awesome to see and shows us that there’s a confident, playful dude in there just waiting to shine through. He hasn’t been tested with cats or kids. If you’d like to meet him fill out an application to adopt now!
