QUESO

QUESO

| M | 2 Y | Lab mix | Medium energy | Playful | Can be bossy – needs structure | Excited about LIFE | Very curious | Ok with dogs and cats | Not kid tested l Mouthy when playing

You know what goes perfectly with QUESO…. Chips… but also maybe you?! This handsome lab mix is generally just very excited about life. He’s happy and bouncy and sometimes doesn’t know exactly how to harness that energy so he’s looking for some people who can show him the ropes. QUESO will benefit from a home with structure and rules where he’s allowed to be himself and showcase that big personality but also understands that he’s not running the show. He’s very curious on walks so will need help with his leash skills – he’s all over the map sniffing all the things. He’s medium energy and while he does love walks and playtime he can also chill at home after exercising. He LOVES tug-o-war and can make some pretty loud noises but he’s just next level excited. He is pretty mouthy with toys and will do a total fake-out with “dropping the ball for you” and then going in hard to grab it when you go to. This cannot be encouraged and he needs to be trained to be commanded off toys “leave it” as if he continues the way he is, will become more controlling. He’s also happy to toss around a toy himself if you’re too busy to play with him. Sigh, but maybe later? He’s currently working on some basic commands and impulse control, so sitting on command but also waiting until you give him a command to come out of the crate even if the door is open. He doesn’t always think before he does things, he just goes for it, so needs someone to reign him in when he goes all in. Like most dogs he feeds a lot of your energy. He’s looking for a leader who will also take him on some great adventures and then you’re sure to see that million dollar smile on the regular. He’s very food motivated but shouldn’t be given anything without working for it – including his meals! Incorporate his food into his daily training to keep him engaged but also trim cause then you’re not feeding him 457 extra treats each day . In regards to other canine friends, he’s somewhat indifferent at first meet. He’s more interested in smelling the crap out of everything twice. He is very dog social though and does initiate play off leash when the scents get boring. He’s also very easy to read body language wise and communicates really well with other dogs. He’s been good with cats so far and hasn’t been tested with kids. Ready to dip into life with QUESO?
