This is PEPPER POTT S. Cute on the outside but spicy on the inside! PEPPER is looking for a home that can help her grow. PEPPER enters most situations in a “fashionably late” sort of look but with a “what did I miss” kind of attitude. PEPPER is particular to most people as she tends to live life in the fast lane and is overly excited wondering WHAT’S NEXT. She meets people with lots of energy and since she doesn’t know how to greet, she is jumpy, barker and generally nips out of excitement (hands/feet). This all needs to be discouraged and she should be leashed and corrected when she approaches people in an inappropriate way. She should also be ignored by people until she is calm enough to meet, which may take a while.. maybe even more than one meeting. PEPPER is good with most dogs and attends the dog park with her dog walker weekly. She usually ignores dogs but is good with the ones on her pack and lets new dogs smell her behind. But since she dominates most situations, she needs to be watched and corrected in these scenarios as well. She is although leash reactive and barks at most dogs she passes on walks, especially those BIG OL SCARY BIG DOGS and new people. This will need to be worked on. PEPPER POTT S sees herself as very loyal, kind of like the real PEPPER POT T S to Ironman but she’s kind of like… too much in her own head and doesn’t really get how she comes off. She is although very charming in the home and to her fav people, currently the male at her home. She thinks he is da bomb and can go to a home with males and females! PEPPER sleeps in a dog bed at night and will need to work on crate training if that is your thing.. which we think it should be because PEPPER needs to be shown who is boss and needs LOTS of leadership to help change her thought process. She should be treated like a Rottweiler. Whatever you wouldn’t let a Rottweiler get away with.. you shouldn’t let her! We tend to accept certain behaviours from little dogs until they start to bite. So, lets cut the BS and focus on the root issues so this girl can be an amazing companion and also truly happy on the inside. We think her behaviours also stem from lack of confidence and fear so let’s help change that. Apply today to foster-to-adopt PEPPER NOW!
