Meet our sweet senior lab mix NATTY! People often say that senior pups have a special kind of love to give because they’ve seen some things and are that much more appreciative of their second chance. That’s definitely NATTY! She’s a super chill girl who is genuinely just so excited to be in the company of her people… and the couch. She LOVES the couch, the bed, all dog beds….you see where we are going with this. She would probably be fine in a smaller space like a condo or apartment but is used to having someone around most of the day. She would be the perfect companion for a new retiree or someone who works from home. NATTY is being fostered in a pretty full house with an 8-year-old human friend and two other dogs. She’s been great with everyone so far and is especially playful with one of the other dogs in the home so actually a younger sibling may help to keep some of that spring in her step. She’s been hitting the dog park a couple times a week to socialize with her new pals and while she was initially a little nervous she now really enjoys running around with all those whippersnappers. On the flip side, without dog interactions like this she may just spend the day sleeping on the couch which is cool, but not all day every day. Let’s give the girl the chance to enjoy her golden years in style! NATTY can be a bit shy in new situations or when meeting new people and although she is clearly excited, may approach, back up, approach, back up a few times before gathering the courage to come say hello. Once she does she’s all in and is very friendly. She is currently not crated but has voluntarily slept in an open crate from time to time. When not crated, she has chewed things like stuffed animals overnight, so this needs to be closely monitored for her safety. She could be crated just to prevent her from accidentally ingesting something she shouldn’t. She hasn’t been tested with cats. NATTY needs to be on hypo food to avoid allergies and also has hip dysplasia and will be on meds for life! Fill out an application to adopt NOW
