LIL BOW WOW
LIL BOW WOW | F | 4 Y | Chihuahua | LA | Low energy | Nervous of new things | Very cuddly/chill | Needs proper intros | Shy/Assertive with dogs | No cats | Older kids only
Bow wow wow yippee yo yippee yay, where my adopters at? LIL BOW WOW who prefers to go by Lil Bit when she’s dropping a fly new mixtape, is ready for the spotlight. She’s a Chihuahua and has some of the best and not so great characteristics of the breed. She loves to sleep and does so for anywhere from 12 – 18 hours a day, is super chill in the home and very affectionate with her people. She’s still nervous of new things (dogs, people and surroundings) and needs proper introductions. People should not immediately bend over her or try to pick her up. When she’s nervous she definitely exhibits some ‘big dog syndrome’ where she tries to immediately assert herself as a tough guy and then retreats to hiding behind your legs. She can be a flight risk so making sure she’s secure on walks and not having her around any open doors she can bolt out of is key. Because she does tend to assert herself in certain situations she will need a home with boundaries for her so that she can start to learn what is appropriate and what’s not. She needs to work on training including leash training, basic commands and socialization. She doesn’t bark in the home usually and is housetrained. LIL BOWWOW is not crazy about most dogs and can be reactive (vocal and lunging) when meeting other dogs both on and off leash. New introductions should be slow and controlled. She has made one dog friend in another Chihuahua. Chis for liiifeee. She hasn’t been tested with cats. She has met a couple kids while at the park and was pretty indifferent. She did allow them to pet her but living with very active children full-time may be a bit much for her. Older kids should be fine. If you’re a Chihuahua lover and are comfortable working with a super snuggly girl with a lil bit of sass then LIL BOW WOW would be a the perfect pooch for you!
