The girl on fire… meet KATNISS! She volunteers as tribute of your heart… k we’ll stop now. KATNISS has a lot of character. She’s gentle and loving, silly and funny, and can be a little bit sassy too. She needs a decent amount of exercise/stimulation during the day or else she becomes bored. She needs an additional surgery on her knee and she does have a jaw abnormality causing her adorable snaggle tooth and the need of some extractions, which will be covered by SOS but may delay her moving to her furever home. In no time she’ll be in top shape again and ready to take the city (or wherever!) by storm. She is expected to live a normal life after surgery! KATNISS does enjoy having her crate as a safe space, she’s fed her meals in there and will voluntarily go in there while her foster is busy around the house but because she lives with another dog who is not crated, she likes to follow their lead. Best buds, party pals 4eva. It took a bit of time for her to settle in with her canine foster sister but now they’re doing well so she could totally be a second dog in the home. KATNISS can be reactive to other dogs on leash but off leash is quite social, although she does tend to play rough sometimes, and she still gets jealous if you’re paying attention to another pooch. She’s not aggressive but she will insert herself into the situation and steal all the attention. She loves hanging out at the dog park mostly to chew the sticks and pinecones. She’s medium energy and does require some playtime and a couple good walks each day. KATNISS may also bark at individuals she doesn’t know so proper introductions are key. With proper intros, she’s very good with people and licking them in no time. She hasn’t been tested with cats and we think would be better with older kids.
