Did you grow up watching Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers in Saturday morning cartoons? COOL, US TOO, MEET DALE. This Blue Heeler is a social dude from Tennessee and typical to his breed he’s active and likes to keep busy so is looking for some energetic people to take him on lots of adventures. He is always looking for a task so incorporating interactive training that will challenge him mentally is important. If he doesn’t get enough exercise he paces and whines to let you know that he’s bored. He’s currently living in a condo but his ideal home would maybe have a backyard for him to explore. Although, he has adjusted to condo life well and may do fine with lots of activity. DALE is still a puppy so is working through some training needs including housetraining but he does consistently use pee pads. He’s also going through a chewing phase so no toy, pillow or carpet is safe. Although he’s sociable and LOVES humans, he has been working through some fears and will need patience and support from his family. He does not like the crate so instead prefers to be in a secure area of the home when you’re away. Confidence building has been a top priority for DALE and he’s come a long way already. He’ll need ongoing support to become more confident and is currently almost mastered walking through doorways, but needs support with elevators. With lots of treats and positive reinforcement he has started to conquer his fears. Now, it’s on to helping with his zig-zag walking skills cause man that’s fun! He’s growing more each day and is such a gentle, good-natured dog that we know his personality will continue to shine. He has grown SOO much in the week he’s been in Toronto. He loves snuggling up with his favourite people, especially after his evening walk, so a home where he spends a lot of time alone would be less than ideal for him. He’s been shy with meeting other dogs but is comfortable enough to let them sniff him. He hasn’t been tested with cats or kids but would probs be ok with older kids who want to play with him.
