Meet CLEO! She is definitely a people dog and loves to be with her homies as much as possible, although she can be a little shy at first so proper introductions are key. When new people come over she will generally just chill in the corner for a bit to assess the situation and then move in for a greeting when she’s ready. She’ll inch closer and head scratches will eventually turn into belly rubs and before you know it you’ll be like cool I’ve just been rubbing your belly for like 2 hours… I totally didn’t have anything to do today… CLEO is pretty well behaved in the home – she’s housetrained and generally quiet. She loves lounging, following you around everywhere and occasionally playing with her toys. She is also crate trained and sleeps in there at night or when people are out of the house. She does whine initially but it’s important to ignore this. She eventually settles and is ok hanging out in there for a bit. She’s medium energy and does love going for a couple good walks per day. Although she’s a bit timid she’s becoming more and more comfortable with her surroundings each day. She’s very curious so while on walks she does tend to stop a fair bit to check things out and take it all in. She responds well when you tell her to keep going and knows some other basic commands as well. CLEO is still a bit apprehensive of other dogs but is fine with her current foster brother and would be fine with another dog who has a similar temperament to her – super chill and laidback. She’s not really looking for a high energy companion who will always want to play with her and another dog would have to be cool with CLEO creeping in on the snuggle time with the humans of the house. She will need to continue to work on her socialization as she tends to hide behind her people when meeting new pups outside of the home. She does live with an elusive cat who is rarely seen but their few interactions have been ok. She has also met a couple dog savvy kids on walks and after getting over her initial shyness she was great with them! If you’d like to apply for this sweet girl fill out an application to adopt!
