When the energizer bunny disguises himself as a dog so he can be adopted out by SOS… meet BONITO! If you’re typically like I don’t like small dogs because they don’t do much… not true. This guy is active, playful and rambunctious and will definitely keep you on your toes. His ideal home has a backyard he can run around in, lots of people to play with him and the ability to take him out on lots of nice, long walks. If he doesn’t get enough exercise/stimulation during the day he has a lot of energy in the evening and takes a while to calm down, thus delaying your Netflix and chill. Additionally, if he’s not properly exercised he’s more likely to misbehave in the home. He is crated when his people are away, but is not currently crated at night. He does tend to bark at noises while he’s in his crate. He’s pretty good on leash and is learning some basic commands, including down which is most applicable when he’s super excited to greet new people and forgets to keep all four paws on the ground. He’s occasionally shy meeting some men but just needs a couple minutes to warm up. In some situations, like social gatherings with a group of people, he’s been overly stimulated and needs a couple minutes to assess the situation. Otherwise he’s pretty social and sometimes goes to work with his foster mama! He’s very loving with his people in the home. BONITO has been fine when interacting with other dogs so far but can be a little intense for some older, chill dogs. He would benefit from having another dog in the home who can teach him how to be a grown up dog but also get crazy with him every now and again. He hasn’t been tested with cats but does show signs of a prey drive on leash. He’s not kid tested but we think he would really enjoy a home with little, playful humans after a proper intro.
