ARIEL

Meet ARIEL! Although she can be a little slow to warm up to some people she is a total lover and has already shown a ton of improvement in foster care. Proper introductions are key to her success and people shouldn’t rush into any interactions with her. This may mean some awkward convos on the street where people are like cool dog and go to pet her head with you be like can you not? It’s important to be ARIEL’s advocate and help people meet her properly. She is super excited to meet some people in the home and is working on keeping all paws on the ground so that she doesn’t seem too eager… Once she gets comfortable she is sweet with a super goofy personality. ARIEL is very smart and has already mastered a ton of commands. Her fosters are rockstars and engage in training with her every day which she loves. She’s medium energy and does well with one long walk plus a couple shorties throughout the day. She is used to having someone work from home but as long as she gets enough exercise and mental stimulation she should be ok to stay home alone for long periods of time. She just wants to be where the people are, get it?!! She would do best with a consistent schedule with people who have time to continue her training and socialization. During her downtime, she can either be found snoozing at your feet or chewing her toys, and she’s pretty good at chewing through them too. She is crate trained and is very good about going in there when you leave and at night. ARIEL is a good condo dog and is comfortable with outside noises (only barking occasionally) and is good in the elevator as well as meeting people in the hallway as long as she gets to do a little sniff test first. She calmly walks by your side on walks but has shown some leash reactivity toward other dogs which is improving with training. She has done better with other dogs when off leash. She hasn’t been tested with cats and would be best with older kids as it takes some time to build a relationship with her. Once you do she’s all about the belly rubs.
