Meet Mighty APHRODITE! If you're looking for a dog who needs lots of mental stimulation but then loves snuggling up on the couch with you after she does her tricks then this is your girl. Although she's medium energy in terms of physical activity and doesn't really care to play with a ball or anything like that she needs mental challenges as she's highly intelligent so will get bored easily. She loves activities like a snuffle mat (Google it!) which are easy to implement in the home. She would be an excellent dog for someone who is interested in working on tricks past the usual basics. In no time this dog could be fetching you a beer, the morning paper and trading on the stock market. Not a word of a lie she can open sliding patio doors even when they're locked and then closes them behind her after she lets herself out. She's a genius. As such she is a serious escape artist and her people will need to be sure that the home and backyard are both FULLY secure at all times. She is also nervous in high traffic areas and is easily spooked by loud noises. It's best to have her on a proper fitted martingale and a harness, just in case. She also refuses to walk on anything metal, like grates. She would do best in a home environment as she loves exploring the backyard, and a home outside of the city would be even better. APHRODITE does not like to be crated and will destroy anything that's left in there with her - turning a blanket into confetti easily. Other than that she is not destructive in the home so she is ok to be left out of the crate. She loves her people and curling up beside you is the best. She's also pretty demanding in the belly rub department. She has been great at meeting new people so far and everyone falls in love with her easily. She currently lives with a pack of dogs and fits in well with everyone. She doesn't need to be top dog and follows the lead of the others. She could also easily be the only dog in the home. She hasn't been tested with cats or kids. If you'd like to meet APHRODITE fill out an application to adopt at saveourscruff.org!
