Meet AGATHA! Yes, it’s true this fluffy little angel is a poodle mix so will be low to no shedding and possibly good for someone who is looking for a more hypoallergenic pup, although we can’t make any guarantees. This girl comes from Mexico and had a bit of a rough past. She at one point had a broken back hip that did not heal properly and as a result her leg can look at bit stiff at times and she may favour her leg occasionally on walks. She is actually surprisingly mobile all things considered and the only long term result of her accident is that she needs to take Metamucil every day to keep her number two’s soft and regular. Although a bit shy at first, AGATHA bonds really easily with her people and has a lot of trust in you. She’s very affectionate in nature although it may take her some time to get there. She’s apprehensive of new people in the home so proper introductions are key. She does best when someone gets down on her level and lets her check them out. We think she’s still getting used to her new life as she’s curious but prefers to cautiously explore new surroundings. She is fine left out of the crate during the day and is not destructive in the home. She does bark though and outside noises tend to set her off so an apartment may not be ideal for her unless neighbours are very understanding. She occasionally barks at night as well. She is quickly getting the hang of leash etiquette and will occasionally sit on command. She’s pretty chill and shorter walks with a healthy dose of snuggling/lounging seems to be best for her. If she’s feeling extra sassy she may play a bit of fetch because #YOLO. She lives with another dog currently but is otherwise pretty nervous of other dogs, especially the big dudes. She would benefit from more socialization in a controlled environment like training classes. She hasn’t been tested with cats and we think older kids would be best for her.
