Meet ZAKI! ZAKI has so much character and is a total attention hog. He wants nothing but love from his humans. Whatever you’re doing around the house he insists on being part of it. He’s a goof and thinks he’s super sneaky. Like he knows he’s not allowed on the couch so he leans over the side and puts his paws on you so he can still snuggle up but also give you that look like ‘see, I’m totally NOT on the couch’. ZAKI is stubborn so while he knows basic commands he won’t do them unless he’s being rewarded for it. He pulls on his leash a lot but has been walking better with a halti. He would 100% benefit from formal training and will need a strong owner. He NEEDS boundaries but has never really been taught any. He is crate trained but needs to be coaxed in and will need more work with housetraining. When ZAKI is unsure about someone or something he tends to react by being vocal. He’s scared of loud noises outside (like buses) and can sense when people are afraid of him so he reacts by barking or growling. He also nervously pees which will take a patient and dedicated owner to help figure out and work with his triggers! He also barks randomly in the home, almost like he’s reminding you that he’s there, when you’re watching TV, in the elevator, random times on walks, etc. He also barks at night when he’s having nightmares OBV because those are scary AF. So apartment living is not the way to go for this dude! ZAKI can live with a cat but needs to be watched as he reacts negatively if the cat hisses or swats at him. ZAKI is a super sweet dog and will do really well in a home with guidance and patience. He LOVES his humans and will definitely give you all the wags in the world if you make him yours.
