This lttle weirdo alien dog with the biggest bulging eyes and stick straight up ears that make her look like Gizmo from Gremlins... is up for adoption!! She waddles when she walks (cute little rump shake) and can often be heard groaning and grunting when she's excited/just in general. She loves to lie on the floor and shake around for belly rubs more often than not. SWEETIE needs a routine and a stern owner to help work with some of her behaviours like nipping, controlled separation anxiety and territory issues. After building trust and leadership, SWEETIE likes to be with you at times but also is independent at others. She is snappy when meeting new people (but working on it in foster care) and will come with specific instructions on how to properly introduce her to new people. She would likely do best in a single animal home or with another chill dog. She is not destructive by any means and is housetrained. She has started to show signs of Separation Anxiety and does can bark/whine at times when you are away. Although we think with proper leadership and training she can improve as we've also seen her NOT doing this at all when left alone. We recommend keeping her ON LEASH in the home so you can correct her and show her you're in control especially in regards to guests who she may show possessiveness towards. She will need ongoing training with SA, meeting new people and territorial issues. She does although love making new human friends at the dog park, or just sniffing around and doing her own thing. She shows signs of resource guarding of toys and it's better to just NOT give her toys to create a problem but should also work on guarding the home. She is not cat tested and not good for kids as she does snap if introduced improperly to humans. We think she still needs to come out of her shell a bit and with the right leader can be more open, happy and confident in all the things! Think this is the girl for you?
