Meet Mr. SPOTTS! This happy go lucky dude is from the Cayman Islands but has been loving his life in Toronto so far. It definitely helps when people are always stopping you on the street to say hello cause you’re so dang cute. #celebstatus You can definitely see the Shar Pei in SPOTTS – he has the CUTEST little ears and curly tail and the most soulful eyes. Outside SPOTTS is very curious in nature. He loves going for walks and exploring the city. He gets beyond excited when it’s time for a walk. He needs some help with his leash skills because he’s just way too pumped about life and the possible adventures he might encounter but his foster has been using a front clip harness with him and that’s been working well so far. He still wants to stop and smell everything/say hi to all living things but with patience we think his leash manners will greatly improve. Except of course when squirrels are around BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ENEMY. He’s extremely distracted by squirrels so it’s best to only have him off leash in secure areas. He’s house broken, crate trained and knows basic commands. Although he seems to frequently ignore the command ‘drop it’ it’s still easy to get things away from him because he’s such a gentle soul. He LOVES to chew his toys and bones. SPOTTS is SUPER loving with people and dogs alike. He gets so excited to see you when you come home and it makes you feel like the most important person in the world. He’s very quiet and would be suited to apartment living. He loves to give kisses and jump in your lap and is especially fond of butt scratches. He would do well in a home with a second dog of any size but hasn’t been tested with cats. He can get a bit mouthy when he plays sometimes so a home with older (10+) dog savvy children would be best. SPOTTS is currently being treated for heartworm, more information will be provided during the adoption process. If you’d like to meet him fill out an application to adopt!
