M | 6 Y | Weimaraner | 65 lbsH | High energy | LOVES fetch | Can be persistent | Learning the rules | Giant lap dog | Dog social but can be reactive | Not cat tested

Remember that time we had a real life Weimaraner?! Meet JAX! He’s a very sweet boy who thinks he’s a lap dog. We haven’t told him he’s actually a giant. He looks especially hilarious next to his chi friend Otis and we would definitely consider adopting them together to the right home. JAX is high energy and has what seems like endless amounts of energy. Fetch, long walks on the beach, chasing squirrels, tug-o-war – he loves all of them and can never get enough. He will require an active home that can provide him with lots of physical and mental stimulation. We’re not kidding when we say he likes to swim and play outside for hours. He loves playtime so much that he can sometimes be a little overly persistent but he’s starting to learn the rules. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t get in on some good Netflix on the couch action though! He’s also VERY passionate about food which sometimes results in some food aggression and resource guarding. JAX would do best in a home with people who are dog experienced, especially with dogs who are easily excitable and require some boundaries. He’s learning to walk well on a leash but will react to reactive dogs. He lives with a couple dogs currently though and is doing well with them. He would be ok with dog experienced kids who are comfortable with his size. He hasn’t been tested with cats but does show signs of a prey drive so we’re not sure that’s the best situation for him.
