Meet GEMINI! This girl was found as a stray and spent a lot of time at a shelter before she became part of our scruff gang, fo lyfe. As such everything is new to her and she is still learning how to settle into this whole being a house pet thing. On the plus side, she is living with a trainer who is super committed to her success going forward and can be a great support system if you live in the Hamilton area. GEMINI has come a long way since her first day in foster care but there’s still a lot of work to be done. She has many typical Husky characteristics and traits so if you have breed specific experience that would be ideal. There are things that GEMINI has taken to very well, like hanging with her people and snuggling. She is a super affectionate dog and prefers to be with people as much as possible. She does have separation anxiety but will sleep in her crate at night. She is an escape artist and WILL find a way to get out. (Huskies… *eyeroll*) She is also extremely vocal when she’s left in her crate with nobody in sight, but is otherwise quiet in the home. She is high energy and loves going for walks and runs. She's also a CHAMP walker. She is playful in the home as well but is not currently a candidate for the dog park so it’s super important that she gets enough exercise with her people. GEMINI is working through some issues with other dogs and should be the only dog in the home unless owners are HIGHLY experienced and the other dog in the home is not reactive. She has not been properly socialized at this stage in her life and does not understand how to appropriately interact with other dogs. She has come a long way but needs to be corrected as soon as she growls. She has learned to give warning signs but adopters and other dogs needs to be able to read these warning signs so that the situation doesn’t escalate. Definitely no cats for her either. GEMINI is very smart so will respond well to ongoing training. She loves any toy that squeaks and is a big fan of the cold… come onnnn snow. If you’d like to meet her fill out an application to adopt now!
