Meet PIRATA who basically looks like a stunt double for the dog in Little Rascals. PIRATA has a sweet eye patch LIKE AN ACTUAL PIRATE. He still has a lot of puppy energy and will need someone to show him the ropes. He’s playful and energetic but also loves a great nap on the couch. He’s affectionate with his people and actually considers himself a lap dog. More than 40 lbs of love ready to keep you warm this winter! PIRATA will need help with his socialization skills with both people and dogs. While he’s great with members of his household he can be apprehensive of strangers and may nip if they try to pet him the wrong way. Proper intros are key and he should be able to make the first move. He also doesn’t like people lurking in the shadows at night (DUH SO CREEPY) and can be a little on edge on evening walks. PIRATA is good with small dogs but so far doesn’t care for big dogs. He barks and growls when he comes across medium to large dogs on his walks. Otherwise he’s good on leash, knows basic, commands and is house and crate trained. He is SUPER smart and we think he would do really well in some obedience classes. If he’s properly exercised he would be fine in an apartment but his dream would be a house with a backyard where he can run around like a fool when he gets a little rambunctious. He tends to nip when he gets overly excited (working on it!) so a home with older, dog experienced kids would be best. He hasn’t been tested with cats but wants the hunt the heck outta some squirrels so may not be the best guy for feline pals. PIRATA is very loving and really just wants ALL YOUR LOVE.
