CARLTON has been with SOS in training on and off for about a year. What we have gained in knowledge about this dude is that his perfect home would ideally be a "working" environment. CARLTON has the highest energy EVER and is looking for an experienced owner who has worked dogs before. CARLTON needs tasks, stimulation, etc as his energy is too much for him and he will end up jumping his 90lb body on you, probably just to see if you noticed him. Extremely loyal, playful and happy, CARLTON means no harm in his behaviour BUT has little control over how excited he gets. CARLTON has been in a board and train with a handler that stimulates his energy into tasks such as tug-a-war which is really proactive for keeping him mentally and physically stable. He needs consistency in his training and is not going to be a lap dog, cuddler, "pet" like dog. He gets overly excited when he meets new people/dogs, and his owner needs to be confident in controlling his outbursts of energy. He needs a home where his handler enjoys daily training, and knows this is a need for CARLTON not a want. Someone who doesn't consider his need for attention as a "chore" but as a sport/hobby they enjoy. He's actually been tested for competitive type training and has the potential to do competitive dog sports like Schutzhund. He is well mannered, crate trained and will come with specific instructions for training. CARLTON is a happy-go-lucky bull in a china shop, needing guidance to get through life so he doesn't bounce off the walls. He is a great addition to a "working" style or high stimulating environment and is truly an amazing pup. Certain dogs need certain homes, although experience with the breed is an asset, CARLTON has much more energy than a typical Rottweiler. He doesn't know his strength which is why we don't see him with kids. He is okay with certain dogs but very particular in who he chooses as a buddy. Please share his story with any person, trainer, experienced handler you know. We know the right family is waiting for him.
